The Ss-Kuru Tribe are a tribe of jungle toki who live in southern Tarati.

A map of the Ss-Kuru village

The denizens of Ss-Kuru live a simple life of farming and fishing. They use Slee as a mode of transportation to other villages.

The village has a central town hall constructed of stone, and the surrounding buildings are constructed of wood and grass.

The current leader of Ss-Kuru is Aka-Tekel.

Old Ss-Kuru

Ss-Kuru was once a thriving community ruled by a fearsome leader named Kyari-Tekel. Kyari-Tekel disappeared suddenly when the Kiladako arrived, before her successor Aka-Tenu was able to receive magical training. Aka-Tenu journeyed west to Sethoth Tribe to receive spiritual guidance from Hyrika-Tekel, and Ss-Kuru disbanded in her absence. The old village fell into ruin.

When Aka-Tekel returned from Sethoth to find Ss-Kuru in disrepair, she set out to find survivors. The tokis she found had long since given up on their old tribe, but she asked them to watch the sky that evening. Aka-Tekel journeyed to the mountain to find a large storm, and she convinced it to destroy a Kiladako outpost.

News of this feat spread quickly, and the inhabitants of Ss-Kuru worked quickly to rebuild the village.

Tekel-Sprite.png
Aka-Tekel is the battle-hardened leader of Ss-Kuru. Young tokis are frightened of her presence.
Roga-Tak.png
Roga-Tak is a huge warrior toki. He wields a tiny dagger to prove that his weapon does not define his strength. It also makes him appear larger.
Mykri-Tak.png
Mykri-Tak is the village blacksmith. He wields a hammer in each hand so that he can forge two weapons at the same time.
Umami-Tak.png
Umami-Tak is the village chef. He spends most daylight hours cooking elaborate and experimental meals for the village.
Thenri-Tak.png
Thenri-Tak is the village slee rancher. She spends her day babysitting pesky (but cute!) slee pups.
Medi-Tak.png
Medi-Tak is the village healer. Even tokis from the far-away snow villages have heard of his skills, and travel to him for specialist care.
Toki-Tak.png
Toki-Tak is a completely normal toki. There is nothing unusual about him.
Yumi-Tak.png
Yumi-Tak is a talented musician. It is often said that her flute songs have stopped wars, tamed Sneehogs, and compelled even ghosts to boogie on the dance floor.
Maki-Tak Sprite.png
Maki-Tak would like to be a mighty warrior, but is yet to overcome his fear of darkness.
Sashimi-Tak.png
Sashimi-Tak was mentored by Sushi-Tak in the art of fishing. She provides Umami-Tak with a steady supply of river fish.
